Tickets handed out to 41 illegal Wisbech parkers

Police have issued 41 parking tickets in Wisbech Market Place and surrounding roads today (Wednesday).

Officers say that, since August, 350 tickets have now been issued in the area.

They also pointed out that there are four free car parks in the town and that, once you enter from Hill Street or the St Peter's Church road end past the metal arches, it becomes a controlled zone. This means that unless you are disabled, loading or unloading, you cannot park anywhere around the market place or side roads. This has been in force since 2015.

There is no need for yellow lines because it is a controlled zone.

A police spokesman said: "So please be aware that if you park where mentioned, you will receive a ticket for £30. Please walk, it's cheaper."
