Fenland District Council pay tribute to former mayor of Wisbech and councillor Kathleen Brennan who died earlier this month

A council has paid tribute to one of its former members who died earlier this month.

Kathleen Brennan represented the Wisbech North ward on Fenland District Council from May 1987 to April 1991 and was described as a “dedicated and loyal public servant.”

During that time she sat on the Housing and Health Committee, Finance Sub Committee, Policy and Resources Committee and the Recreation and Public Works Committee.

Kathleen was also a member of Wisbech Town Council from 1980 to 2003 and was the Mayor of Wisbech from 1986 to 1987.

Flags will be lowered at the FDC offices at Fenland Hall in March, as a mark of respect until after her funeral, which is set to take place on Friday, August 30.

A minute's silence will also be held before Fenland’s next full council meeting on Monday, September 30 to recognise her achievements and contributions across more than two decades.
