A-levels 2024: Students at Cromwell Community College in Chatteris celebrate their A-level achievements
Chatteris students are celebrating their outstanding A-level results, paving the way for their future university studies and careers.
With 70% of the Year 13 cohort applying for university – of which 35% have applied to prestigious Russell Group Universities – they are set to embark on studies in diverse fields such as nursing, material science, archaeology, cyber security and ecology, and aeronautical engineering.
These universities include the University of Durham the University of Sheffield and the University of Southampton.
For those choosing not to attend university, a variety of exciting career paths await. Students are entering professions such as estate agency, the NHS, policing, and higher-level apprenticeships with esteemed employers like Bidwells, and Tesco.
Heather Paul, Director of Sixth Form at Cromwell Community College, praised the commitment and determination demonstrated by this year’s students.
She said: “Our students have shown exceptional dedication to their studies.
“Their hard work has really paid off, and they are now prepared to embark on their next adventures as independent young adults. I am incredibly proud of them all.”
Jane Horn, Executive Headteacher of Cromwell Community College, which is part of The Active Learning Trust, expressed her pride in the achievements of both students and staff: “The commitment and hard work of our students and staff have led to these impressive results.
“I am thrilled to see so many students progressing towards their chosen career paths and wish them all the best for their future success.”

Students across the district have been receiving their results today including at the Thomas Clarkson Academy in Wisbech, Neale-Wade Academy, March, and Wisbech Grammar School with many heading off to universities nationwide this autumn.
