A new way of picking up your Citizen

You have spoken – and we have listened! From next week your beloved Fenland Citizen will be distributed in a different way.

For too long many of our loyal readers have told us that, in some areas, distribution of the paper has been patchy, with too many of you missing out on receiving a copy.

Over the past six months we have been taking a hard look at how we can ensure the maximum number of copies get out there into your hands.

Last autumn in Chatteris we began distributing on a ‘pick-up’ basis where the papers are supplied to shops and other community venues.

It has proved a great success with our readers, so now we are spreading this out across Fenland. This means that when you are out and about doing your shopping, or in the library or filling up in the garage, whether you are in Wisbech or March or many other places in Fenland, you’ll never be far away from a copy of the Citizen.

Our aim is to make this newspaper even more accessible to its readers. We know you love it. . . that is why you get so upset when you don’t receive it!

The new system starts next Wednesday. Keep an eye out for our sparkling new holders, carrying the Fenland Citizen logo. The paper will still be available to buy from some newsagents for just 55p.

And, for our many advertisers, this is also good news. This move makes the Citizen more visible than ever before. Our readers – your customers – can get the paper whenever and wherever they want it. There’s even a free e-edition on our website (www.fenlandcitizen.co.uk).

Finally a word for the deliverers who popped the papers through the letterboxes. It had become increasingly difficult to maintain the first-class service our readers deserved, but that is no criticism of you, thank you for your hard work.

A full list of exactly where you can collect your free copy will follow shortly.
