Two crafting groups had visitors in a stitch when they joined forces for their first-ever display together.

The Walpole Art and Craft Club and the Rainbow Quilters held the event at Walpole St Peter Church on Saturday. Young and old alike enjoyed seeing a wealth of different crafts on display, including colourful quilts, paintings, sugar craft, encaustic wax art, silk flower arranging and hand-made cards and Christmas decorations. There were also lace making demonstrations and simple crafts for children to enjoy. Gill Henderson, who helps to run both groups, said: “We had some wonderful comments about the skill level and variety of crafts on show, which was a real boost for both clubs. It was such a success, we hope to make it an annual event.” The day also raised £370 in aid of Walpole St Peter Parish Hall.
