AA man stuck in ditch

An AA man found himself needing rescue after getting trapped in a muddy ditch.

One crew from Dogsthorpe, one crew from March and a rescue vehicle from Dogsthorpe were called to reports of a man stuck in water off the A605, near to Goosetree Estate, Whittlesey, at 11.05pm last night (Monday).

A man was trapped in a water-filled ditch by an overturned vehicle.

The victim is said to have worked for the AA and was recovering another vehicle when he subsequently became stuck.

He was stuck in about 10 feet of mud, which was above his knees, and he was slowly sinking.

Firefighters rescued the man using specialist equipment.

Police and ambulance were also at the scene.

Crews returned to their stations by 11.55pm.
