Advice over home callers

CAMBRIDGESHIRE Community Services NHS Trust is advising local people to ask to see NHS identity cards if they are concerned about the identity of home callers.

This follows the Trust receiving information that a number of people in Cambridgeshire have been approached in their homes by callers claiming to be community therapists and offering to sell products to aid their condition.

While NHS staff will often make recommendations, they will never offer to sell products directly to patients or make house to house calls to sell products.

If in doubt about whether home callers are employed by the NHS, ask to see their NHS identity card and report any concerns you have to the police.
