Alcohol confiscated from drinkers breaking Public Spaces Protection Order in Wisbech

Police say they confiscated alcohol from a group of drinkers breaking a Public Spaces Protection Order in Wisbech at the weekend.

The order bans people from being in possession of open containers of alcohol in St Peter’s Church Gardens, Tillery Fields and the memorial garden in The Crescent.

While on patrols to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB), officers came across a group of people breaching the order in the church gardens. Their alcohol was confiscated, and they were dispersed from the area.

A spokesman said: “Street drinking and associated ASB is a priority for our neighbourhood team over the next few months.”
