Appeal over lost cat

ANIMAL shelter owner Kay Mitchell has issued an urgent SOS to help find the owners of a rescued cat.

The dark grey tabby, which is believed to be around eight or nine years old, was found badly emaciated and with an injured paw in Creek Road, March,

The male neutered cat was taken by a member of the public to a veterinary surgery where it was given emergency treatment before being taken to Tara’s Refuge which is run by Miss Mitchell at Manea.

She said: “The poor thing could have been locked in somewhere or been chased off its territory and has got lost as a result.

He was in a very poor state but after being given antibiotics and painkillers at the vet’s he is a bit brighter.”

The veterinary costs have already reached £70 and could go higher if the animal needs further treatment on his injured foot.

Sadly the cat is not microchipped and Miss Mitchell is appealing either for anyone who thinks it might be their lost pet or who would like to offer him a new home, when he is well enough, to come forward. Help with the vet’s bill would also be appreciated.
