Fenland District Council open applications for environmental grants of up to £10,000
Applications are invited for grants of up to £10,000 to support community groups with projects with environmental benefits.
Constituted community groups or organisations are encouraged to apply for funding, thanks to Fenland District Council.
Funds with upcoming deadlines are the Ransonmoor Community Fund, providing grants of up to £5,000 for projects in the areas around Benwick, Doddington and Wimblington. The deadline for applications is 11.59pm on Sunday, August 17.
The other fund is the Glassmoor Local Environment Fund, for groups in Whittlesey, Coates, Eastrea, Pondersbridge and Ramsey Mereside and the surrounding area.
Typically, successful bids are of a maximum of around £10,000, but there is no formal maximum bid. The deadline for applications is 11.59pm on Sunday, September 21.

Cllr Susan Wallwork, Fenland District Council cabinet member, said: “These valuable funds are in place to support and elevate projects of community value,
and we urge groups to apply.
“Projects could include things such as energy efficient or renewable energy upgrades to community buildings, wildlife promotion, things that improve access to public or sustainable transport, like cycling, car sharing or buses.
“We welcome community groups to get in touch to discuss and progress their grant applications.”
Several projects to support community building upgrades were recently awarded grants through a similar Net Zero Villages grant scheme, which saw successful bids for Community centres in Tydd St Giles and Guyhirn, the community hall and sports pavilion at Gorefield playing field and the parish hall at Wimblington.
Ransonmoor Community Fund and Glassmoor Local Environmental Fund were established to support community projects within the area close to wind farms. The funds are managed by committees and administered by Fenland District Council.
