Arrest following fatal crash in which motorcyclist was killed

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink or drug driving following the fatal crash on March by-pass yesterday (Thursday).

The 51-year-old man from Bury St Edmunds was later released by Cambridgeshire police with a spokesperson saying he was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drinks or drugs and was released "under investigation".

A motorcyclist died following the crash on the A141 which happened at around 3am and involved a van.

He was riding a blue Suzuki motorbike when the accident, which reportedly also involved a cow, which had to be put down at the scene, happened.

The road was closed for some hours between Mill Hill roundabout at Knights End Road while accident investigations were carried out.
