Arsonists set fire to a barn in Wisbech last night (Tuesday, March 17).

Two crews from Wisbech and another from West Walton were called to a barn blaze on North Brink at 10.50pm.

A spokesman said: “ The fire was well developed when crews arrived and they used two jets to extinguish the fire. The barn measured 20mx50m and contained gardening materials.

“Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service works very closely with the police and other partner agencies to help reduce arson across the county. When a deliberate fire happens, such as the one last night in Wisbech, all partners are informed so thorough investigations can take place.”

Anyone with information should contact police on the 101 number.
