THERE were some creative entries for an Easter bonnet competition held at Onyx Court, in Wisbech.

Arthur Cracknell (80), the only male entrant, was crowned the male winner of the Easter Bonnet competition for his creative entry.

In the female category, Beatrice Pluck (91) took the first prize with her bright and colourful hat - they both won spending money and vouchers.

Roddons Housing Association staff organised the fun competition at the popular scheme, as part of their Easter celebrations.

Over 40 residents thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, which was hosted by entertainer Darren Partington, who got everyone singing along to songs from the 50s.

Jackie Larham, resident involvement assistant for Roddons, said: “It was such a lovely event and there was a lot of laughter, chatting and singing. We received eighteen entries - 17 from our ladies and one from Arthur. All entries were great!

“It’s wonderful to see everyone getting involved and discovering their creative side.”
