Autism Anglia hoping for Silly Sock success

ON Friday, March 30, local charity Autism Anglia is asking people to wear their brightest, craziest socks for the day in return for a small donation.

This will be the charity’s second Silly Sock Day – last year’s raised more than £3,800, and they are hoping to do even better in 2012.

Autism Anglia provides a free Family Support service to families affected by the condition, as well as adult residential and educational services and an autism-specific school.

Silly Sock Day is intended to bring attention to World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, when people all over the world unite to raise awareness of autism.

Schools, companies and families can all take part, with everyone wearing their silliest socks and donating as little as £1 each to help Autism Anglia continue providing their essential services across the region.

If you are interested in taking part in Silly Sock Day, please call 01206-577678 or email to request a free fundraising pack.

The pack contains everything needed for a successful fundraising day, including sponsorship forms, ideas of how to raise extra money and stickers for everyone to show their participation in Silly Sock Day. Autism awareness resources are also available if required.
