Hard-working gardeners in Wisbech are celebrating after winning an award.
Peckover House is the only National Trust property in the region to receive a bronze award for plant health. Gardener-in-charge Allison Napier, pictured above, avoids issues with diseases and pests by placing new plants in a six-week quarantine before they are set. She said: “Peckover is the only National Trust garden in the east of England to be awarded this. Many criteria had to be met to attain the award but it is well worth all the effort .” The gardens are open from Saturday to Wednesday weekly until the end of October. Photo: SUPPLIED
