Bag packing cadets

Cadets from 272 (Wisbech) Squadron air Cadets held a fundraising bag pack at Wisbech Tesco store.

Over the course of the day, shoppers were able to have their bags packed by the cadets in return for a small donation for squadron funds taking the pressure off a busy Saturday shopping.

The cadets raised just over £650 and would like to thank the generosity of the general public and the hospitality of the staff of Tesco. The funds will enable the cadets to take part in the many opportunities available to them including adventure training, flying and gliding.

Flying Officer Colin Arnold, Officer Commanding 272 said: “Fundraising is a very important part of cadet service and the money goes towards ensuring that they get the best out of their time with us.

“We are very grateful for the support that Wisbech gives us.”

While the cadets were packing bags they also had the chance to talk to shoppers many of whom had past ties with Wisbech Squadron or one of the Armed Forces.
