Fancy yourself as a gambler, with nerves of steel?
Leverington Sports and Social Club is staging a casino night at its Church Road premises on Saturday, April 9 – and the most successful gambler will walk away with a 40-inch Samsung smart TV.
The event is raising funds for the village club – and there will also be a raffle and collection buckets to help six-month-old Emneth tot Reggie Brinton, who suffers from a rare painful skin condition known as Ichthyosis,
Reggie’s skin itches and sheds every 12 hours and his mum, Leia, is trying to raise £10,000 to buy a special Microsilk bath which will enable him to have smooth and comfortable skin for days at a time.
The club adopts a local cause to support over 12 months and last year raised around £1,500 to help Wisbech St Mary man Billy Lee get a special prosthetic limb after his right leg had to be amputated due to cancer.
In addition to the raffle and collection buckets at the casino night, the club will have a raffle and collection to help little Reggie at a 70s night in June and will also run fundraising stalls for him at their family fun day in July. Tickets for the casino night cost £20 from Ian Cooper on 07860 391891 or email ian@swift- recruitment.co.uk
The event starts at 7pm and Ian hopes to get around 120 people there.
The ticket price includes a drink on arrival, a finger buffet and an allocation of chips to gamble on the blackjack, poker and roulette tables manned by croupiers.
The gambler winning the most chips on the night will scoop the television and there are four other runners-up prizes up for grabs, including a coffee machine.
A magician will also entertain during the evening.
