They’re under starter’s orders for a very different kind of race at Huntingdon Racecourse.
These ladies in their glad rags are in hot pursuit of a Kia Rio because they’re so keen to win the car for a year.
That’s the prize on offer for the best-dressed lady on the first ever Winter Ladies’ Day at the Cambridgeshire racecourse on Saturday, 23 November when fantastic fashions for the season will be on show, including those from Foxtrot Clothing – owned by Joanne King - which provided the outfits for these racy ladies.
The prize of a year’s use of Kia Rio comes courtesy of the day’s sponsor – Boongate Kia of Peterborough.
The fixture features the inaugural Boongate Kia Cambridgeshire National which, at three and three-quarter miles, is the longest horse race run at the track.
Nadia Gollings, General Manager of Huntingdon Racecourse, said: “Our new Winter Ladies’ Day will be a tremendously exciting occasion with all the warm fashions for the winter. We have the anticipation of the first ever Cambridgeshire National horse race – and the icing on the cake is our sponsor, Boongate Kia of Peterborough, giving the lady chosen as the best dressed on the day a Kia Rio car for a year. There couldn’t be a better incentive to dress up and spend a great day at the races.”
The meeting on 23 November is Huntingdon Racecourse’s only Saturday fixture of 2013. It is the start of a superb few weeks of racing at the Cambridgeshire track – including the running of the £60,000 Grade 2 Betfred Peterborough Chase on Thursday 12th December and Boxing Day racing.
The big days coming up at Huntingdon Racecourse are:
• Boongate Kia Peterborough Winter Ladies’ Day on Saturday 23 November (first race, 12 noon)
• Betfred Peterborough Chase Day on Thursday 12 December (12.30pm)
• Stan James Boxing Day on Thursday, 26 December (12.45pm)
