Better paths for parks

Big improvements have been made to the pathways in March’s West End Park for pedestrians and cyclists.

The central diagonal path from the George Campbell Leisure Centre to Marylebone Bridge has been widened to provide a clearly marked cycleway. The surface has also been repaired. Other paths have also been refurbished, including the one that runs alongside the river and the one linking Marylebone Bridge to the Chase.

The project has been jointly funded by Fenland District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council.

Councillor Peter Murphy, FDC’s Cabinet member responsible for the environment said: “The old paths were in a very poor state and they were getting worse.”
