This weekend sees a major fundraising event in aid of Fenland-based charity A Local Wish.

Saturday’s Fun Day, which is being held at the rugby club in Chapel Road, Wisbech, is free and includes a huge array of activities and attractions.

The fun starts from 11am with an under 12s rugby match and goes right through to 8pm when it concludes with live music by popular band The Breeze.

A magic show at noon, a performance by All Street Dancers at 3.30pm and a rugby match between Wisbech vs Thorney kicks off at 2.30pm are among the other entertainments on offer.

One of the big events of the day is a strong man competition which starts at 12.30pm and will end with an awards ceremony at 4.40pm.

The live music starts at 6pm and finishes at 8pm.

Other attractions include zorbing balls, art and craft stalls, inflatables including an assault course and bouncy castle. There will be a barbecue and bar will be running all day.

All money raised will go to a A Local Wish to help make the dreams of local residents come true at the end of the year.

In the meantime the charity has limited tickets available for its summer ball which will be held in a marquee on July 26. Tickets are £50 each and include dinner and coffee as well as entertainment from live band Vision.
