Wisbech Post Office is closed following an incident earlier today (Friday).
The fire service was called at 11.50am after reports of a burning smell in the busy town centre branch.
Two crews from Wisbech were dispatched and when they arrived, there was a strong smell of electrical burning.
It was found to be coming from a light fitting, but there was no fire. A fire service spokesperson said the 999 call was made with good intentions.
Customers are currently being directed to the Norfolk Street post office.
