The female driver of the double-decker bus is believed to have received a knock to the head and other minor injuries and has been taken to hospital as a precaution.

There were six schoolchildren on board but they have now been rescued from the bus and are not thought to be injured.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
