ELM Post Office will have a new home from next month when it moves to the Londis Store.

Following a public consultation, the current branch will close on Friday, August 31 and the new branch will open on Tuesday, September 4.

As an added bonus to customers, the Post Office will have longer opening hours – 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 1pm Sunday.

Post Office spokesperson, Wendy Hamilton said: “We are confident that moving Elm Post Office to Londis Store is the best way to meet both the needs of our customers and also ensure the longer term viability of Post Office services in the area.”

During this short period of closure, the nearest alternative Post Office branches are Norfolk Street Post Office and Emneth Post Office.

The Post Office local service will operate from a newly formatted open plan counter, enabling customers to transact a wide range of key Post Office products and services alongside retail transactions.

Services will include banking services, automated bill and budget payment schemes, Post Office card account, as well as postage for inland letters and packets (including Signed For and Special Delivery), inland parcels, international letters and packets.
