Disability no bar for Clair’s business

A March woman has not let her disability get in the way of starting a foot care business.

Clair Francis is working out of a March salon and is looking to boost her profile in the town.

Clair suffers from spinal muscular atrophy which primarily affects her legs, meaning she can only walk short distances, but her hands are unaffected by the genetic disease, allowing her to carry out intricate work, from nail cutting to foot massage.

Clair, who is mum to 10-year-old Ella, ran her own business as a colonic hydrotherapist, but retrained a couple of years ago as a foot health professional.

She is now working part-time out of Academy Hair Salon in Hostmoor Avenue. To book an appointment, call 07742-056809.
