Excitement at the Horsefair Shopping Centre in Wisbech is mounting ahead of the opening of a brand new Costa Coffee that is due to open in 2014.

Work on the new store is due to start on Monday and is expected to last for approximately ten weeks. During this time a small number of construction hoardings will be appearing at the entrance to the Market Place.

Kevin Smith, centre manager at the shopping centre, said: “We are very pleased and incredibly excited to welcome Costa Coffee to the Horsefair Shopping Centre. It’s great that another reputable chain is coming to Wisbech, it’ll be a fantastic addition to the Horsefair’s current mix of retailers and will be a great boost for the town centre.

“Inevitably, with all new sites, there will be a short period of construction whilst the premises are transformed. We are doing our upmost to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum and we ask shoppers to be patient whilst the construction work is going on and promise it’ll be worth it in the end!”

A representative from NewRiver Retail, the owners of the Horsefair Shopping Centre, said: “We were delighted when the planning application to transform the Horsefair’s former O2 shop into a Costa Coffee was successful. It is great to see the changes beginning to take place to renovate the shop ahead of its opening.

“Costa Coffee has recently opened at another shopping centre managed by NewRiver Retail and has been really successful, we hope to see the same results at the Horsefair Shopping Centre.”
