Busy time for Wisbech air cadets

It’s been a busy time for members of the Wisbech 272 Squadron Air Cadets with a variety of activities.

Cadets Issy Brown-Aherne, Tilly Judge, Jess Williams, and Josh Hensby successfully completed their bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award training around Whittlesey.

The four will now go on to do their assessed two-day and one night expedition at the end of this month. In order to gain their bronze awards they will have to successfully work as a team to navigate a route carrying all their equipment including their tents, sleeping bags, food, and cooking equipment.

Elsewhere cadets helped support the reopening of the Cafe in the Park with a display by the squadron’s band leading the entertainment for those who turned out to watch the ribbon cutting ceremony by Wisbech mayor Sidney Imafidon.

Royal Air Force Air Cadets is an organisation for young people aged 12 (year 8 or above) to 17.

Activities include opportunities for flying, gliding, first aid training, Duke of Edinburgh Award, sport, leadership, teamwork, radios, community service and many more.
