Cabinet minister receives letters from Wisbech
Fenland MP Steve Barclay presented letters written by children at Peckover School to Justine Greening, International Development Minister. Peckover pupils recently met with Mr Barclay to discuss their involvement in a global campaign to address the 58 million children around the world who currently do not go to school.
Pupils wrote letters explaining why this issue mattered to them.
Mr Barclay said the minister was very impressed by the youngsters’ commitment to this important issue.
He said: “The students made an excellent presentation and it is great to see them taking such an active interest in these important issues that affect children around the world.
“It is clear a great deal of research had been done and they certainly made a positive impression on the Secretary of State, who praised their efforts.” Mr Barclay is pictured above presenting the letters from Peckover School children to Ms Greening in the House of Commons Picture: SUPPLIED.
