Paws for Thought: Can you give a home to ‘big softie’ Luca a home?

In our weekly Paws for Thought column, we highlight a lovely friendly dog who needs to find his forever home…

Big softie Luca, who is 11 months old and is a Mastiff X Labrador, joined the centre via the dog warden a few weeks ago and is now ready to start looking for his forever home.

He is quite a sensitive boy, although he is young and wants to be friendly, you can see there is some apprehension there.

He gets quite boisterous when he is playing, due to his young nature, but will still be nervous when first going out for a walk.

The world is a bit of a scary place for him, and although he is a big boy, he is still a bit of a baby.

Experience of large young dogs would be preferable but not necessary, and a decent-sized garden and spacious home would be a good idea for this boy.

Luca will need a couple of good walks a day, so active, strong owners would be good, with time to spend on training with him, as he hasn’t got many basic commands.

This lovely boy will need lots of positive reinforcement to guide him into the brilliant boy he is showing us he can be.
