FENLAND Volunteer Centre is asking people to think about giving some of their time to help others this month.

The latest volunteering opportunities are with:

• ChildLine Schools Service Programme.

This aims to visit every UK school at least every two years to ensure children have an understanding of abuse in all its forms, including bullying and an ability to recognise the signs of abuse; to ensure children know how to protect themselves from all kinds of abuse; and make them aware of how to get help.

• Olympic Quilted Pennants.

The Olympic Committee want to present every Olympian with a hand-crafted quilted pennant. Can you put quilting skills to work?

• Luminus Ferry Project at Octavia View, Wisbech.

Needs people with a keen interest in gardening to help the project maintain the community garden to a high standard.

Also, painter and decorators to assist with maintaining a high standard of decoration around the hostel and keeping paint work neat and tidy.

If you can help with these or want to find out about more volunteering opportunities, contact the Wisbech-based centre on 01945-582192 or email:
