Car driver from Whittlesey arrested following collision near Christchurch which left motorcyclist seriously injured
A car driver has been arrested following a serious collision near Christchurch on Friday.
Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following the incident, where a black and green Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle and a blue Seat Leon were in collision just after 3pm at the junction of the B1098 and Padgetts Road.
The motorcyclist, a 23-year-old man from St Ives, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, and remains there with serious injuries.
The Seat driver, a 44-year-old man from Whittlesey, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been released on bail to return to Thorpe Wood police station on November 15.
Det Sgt Craig Wheeler said: “We are appealing for the public’s help to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident. We believe that at least two other vehicles may have been in the vicinity at the time, and we have not yet spoken to their occupants.”
