WIMBLINGTON and Stonea Community Car Scheme provides door-to-door transport for people who are 60 plus or disabled, living in the parish, do not have the use of a car and unable to use conventional public transport.
The schemes priorities are for appointments to the local surgeries, hospitals, opticians, chiropodists or dentists, picking up prescriptions and hospital visiting.
All drivers are volunteers, so are not a taxi service. Journeys are arranged through the co-ordinator and are provided by volunteers using their own cars. Passengers make a contribution towards the cost of their journey and there is a minimum charge.
If you think the scheme can help and you live within the parish contact us for more information, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0756 378 2938
