Youngsters were given an insight into the working world at a Wisbech school’s largest careers fair.

Several hundred pupils from Years 8 to 13 visited the fair, which included more than 30 exhibitors, which was held at the Thomas Clarkson Academy on November 18.

Youngsters receive advice and information from the 32 companies, which included national and local firms, training providers and Further Education and Higher Education colleges.

Companies in attendance included News UK, film production company Wildcats, Lamb Weston, engineering firm Metalcraft.

Public sector bodies such as the NHS, Police and Fenland District Council also had information stalls as well as Great Peterborough UTC, The College of West Anglia and Lincoln University.

The school’s Vicky Read said: “The event went really well and we have had a lot of positive feedback from both students and exhibitors. Both Rebecca Sussex from the Skills Service and I want to thank all those attended and made it such a constructive and engaging day.”
