FANCY getting stuck into history? Think you have what it takes to be an archaeologist then a relatively new club in Wisbech could be for you.
The Wisbech and District Archaeological Society, which was formed after the community dig at Wisbech Castle in September 2009 is looking for new members.
But places are limited and so the society, which is affiliated to the Council of British Archaeology is asking people to apply to join.
The society held its first meeting in November 2009 and last year carried out its first dig at Wimblington Road in March, where they unearthed Bronze and Iron Age ditches and several hundred finds including pottery, flint tools and animal bones.
This year they are planning to return to the March site and are also looking to carry out a dig at a moated manor in August.
Applicants interested must be over 18 (because of insurance restrictions)and must have an interest in history and archaeology. Specific skills will be taught.
