Chatteris college learn practical skills by organising Christmas party
Child development students enjoyed some practical learning when they organised a Christmas party for youngsters.
The Year 11 students at the Cromwell Community College in Chatteris held the party for children of staff at the college, with the support of classroom teacher Hayley Wincott. As well as getting everyone into the festive spirit, the event meant students could make observations regarding the development of children aged one to three, as part of their GCSE course. Head of health and social care, Lou Allen, said the students worked hard to ensure all children had a really memorable time. She said: “They demonstrated real enthusiasm and were very charitable, organising games and food as well as a visit by Father Christmas (thanks to Michael Boyden for this!).”
