Two Chatteris community groups have received a boost to funds which will be used to continue to enhance the town.
The Old Bakery Tea-Room and Restaurant on Market Hill in Chatteris held a raffle during December and added the money raised to the amount collected from the Santa’s Grotto held during the Christmas Lights switch-on.
In total £400 was raised and this was split between Chatteris In Bloom, which received £300, and Chatteris Christmas Lights, who were given £100.
A further amount of £140 was also given to the lights fund from the sale of Munns’ products at The Old Bakery.
Carl Harrison, chairman of Chatteris In Bloom, was thrilled with the donation. He thanked the staff and customers of the tea-room for their efforts.
Reg Tibbitts, treasurer of the Christmas Lights, extended his thanks to the tea-room and also to George and Jane Munns for allowing their products to be sold in aid of the Christmas Lights fund.
