This year’s Summer Reading challenge has kicked off at Fenland’s libraries.

The event encourages children to read six books through the holidays, and this year’s theme is record breakers. Youngsters collect stickers for reading and can also take part in fun, book-related activities.

The first event at Chatteris Library is ‘Magpie’s Treasures’ on Tuesday at 2.30pm.

Children can read a story and take part in a craft activity to help make the library’s biggest magpie. The event costs £1 per child and is open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by a adult.
