Wisbech’s Elgoods Brewery celebrated the launch of its first permanent beer in 10 years with an invitation to enjoy a pint of the good stuff at the Rising Sun in Leverington.
Members of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and local beer drinkers sampled the new Cambridge IPA and tucked into Indian snacks and curries provided by the pub’s Maggie Sharman at the launch event.
Marcus Beecher, sales manager for Elgood and Sons, said Cambridge IPA was a 4.7% beer, brewed in the style of a traditional IPA with five different hops and a long dry finish, giving a “good refreshing flavour and excellent taste”.
He added: “We are very proud of this ale, which is the first permanent beer to be launched for over 10 years. It has been extremely well received.”
The beer is currently being sold in Wetherspoons pubs nationwide, as well as locally in Elgoods pubs and the free trade.
