A YOUNG child was pronounced dead at the scene of this morning’s accident near Friday Bridge.
Magpas Helimedix (Dr Simon Lewis and Paramedic Dave Mee) arrived at the scene at around 10.50am following a two vehicle collision, which left the road closed for more than five hours today - it re-opened at about 3.30pm.
One man was treated by an EEAST Ambulance Crew on the scene, who then took the patient to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn.
A second, severely injured, man was treated by another air ambulance charity - who proceeded to fly the patient to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.
Sadly, despite all the best efforts of the Helimedix (including advanced level care and attempted resuscitation), working alongside Fire and Rescue Crews and the police, a young child was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Magpas spokesman said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this time.”
