MARCH Veteran and Vintage Cycle Club held its 30th annual rally on Sunday over ten miles with a good turn out.

Of the five cycle clubs that have existed in March over the years, this is the longest running club and members are proud of this record.

Winners were: Tony Fielding Trophy for cycles before 1900: Brian Cooper. Bedford Cup: Mrs Sandra Catherall. Claud Dewsberry Trophy for Penny Farthing riders: Graham Catherall. Popple shield for tandem: Bernard and Sylvia Keane. Frank Lacy Trophy for most meritorious ride: Brian Cundy, of Wisbech. Brian rode from Wisbech to March, then took part in the ride, then rode back again on an early 1900s bike.

Robert Gardener Trophy for best March member: Pam Swann. Kathleen Crone Trophy: Ladies - Maureen Goodge and men Derek Watson.

On Saturday, club members were proud to take part for the second time by invitation, in the Tour of Great Britain cycle event.

This was at Sandringham when they rode across the finish line before the main cyclists.
