Downham Market woman with more than 30 years of experience opening coffee shop on March High Street
A family-run coffee shop offering a range of home-baked snacks and treats is set to open in a Fenland town.
Coffee House is set to open on Saturday, October 26 at 8am on the High Street in March.
Tammy Appleton, from Downham Market, has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and previously ran the Norfolk Tea Rooms in King’s Lynn, for more than 20 years. This closed down a couple of years after the pandemic as she moved to Downham Market with her partner.
She bought the lease on the premises that were formerly home to Jenny’s Snack Bar, Nala Coffee, and Desert Lounge, in July and has spent the last three months revamping the shop.
She thinks March is a “lovely little town” and wants to bring an old-fashioned coffee shop to the town.
Tammy said: “It is small but cosy and inviting.”
She hopes that mums on the school run will pop in afterward and use it as a meeting place with friends.
“It is nice to have an old-fashioned coffee shop. I hope I get the support of the locals,” said Tammy.
The shop offers a sit-in service with five tables and takeaway with a wide range of options including gluten-free and a vegan selection.
The Coffee House will be open Monday-Saturday from 8am-4pm.
