College of West Anglia’s Wisbech campus Freshers’ Fair helps students connect
The College of West Anglia’s Wisbech campus came alive as students attended the Freshers’ Fair - a lively event designed to help them settle into college life and build connections.
Students had the opportunity to explore a wide range of stalls from local organisations, student services and charities, while enjoying giveaways and learning more about the support available to them during their studies.
Suzanne Green and Jenny Howie from Cats Protection said: “Today has been an incredibly positive experience being able to interact with the students and share with them the work we do.
“Whether it be rehoming or neutering cats, as well as educating the public, opportunities such as today allow us to share our vision for championing the welfare of all cats and caring for those that need our help.”
Nigel Harvey from the Samaritans said: “We like to visit the freshers’ fairs to engage with the staff and students to raise awareness of the service that we as a charity provide.
“It's been a great day with really high levels of interaction. It's a real privilege to be able to talk to students in an environment such as this to let them know that they're never alone.”
The fair provided a welcoming atmosphere for students to ask questions, meet new people, find out more about extracurricular activities, and discover opportunities at the college and in the area.
