College of West Anglia campus in Wisbech expands its animal care facilities
A college is continuing to expand its animal care and dog grooming courses and facilities.
The animal courses at the College of West Anglia Campus in Wisbech provide a variety of potential career progression for students including full-time and part-time programmes from level 1 to level 3 for school leavers, as well as a variety of courses for adult learners.
The expanded facilities include a large animal unit which includes goats and sheep.
In addition, there are exotic animals such as snakes, lizards, sugar gliders, a range of invertebrates, tortoises, pygmy hedgehogs, and chinchillas.
As well at the campus, there are a range of companion animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and rodents including hamsters, rats, gerbils, mice, and degus.
CWA Wisbech Campus has its own K9 dog grooming parlour which is open to the public to book their own dogs in for learners to bath, dry, and style.
Donna Woodruff, programme manager for curriculum and resource in animal care and dog grooming at CWA, said: “Wisbech Campus animal care and dog grooming has gone from strength to strength over the last few years.
“With a huge range of animals to develop learners’ skills and experience.
“The area is a valuable resource that provides learners studying in this area the skills, experience and deeper understanding of animal care and welfare.”
