Thieves snuck in a Chatteris home and stole a laptop while the owner was outside weeding.

The black Toshiba Satellite laptop was taken from a home in Green Park on May 26.

The owner was weeding her front garden but throughout the day popped into her house to check her emails on the laptop, which had been left on the dining room table.

At about 9.15pm, she noticed her laptop had been moved and began to search the house and reported it stolen.

Det Con Shelly Reeve said: “This has been particularly unsettling for the family.

“There is every possibility that someone has entered their home, while they were there, removed the laptop and left without them noticing.”

Anyone with information should call 101.
