Wisbech cookery tutor launches recipe book in aid of homeless charity the Ferry Project
Acclaimed local cookery tutor, Alison Crouch, has released her first full-length cookery book.
Alison, who is the tutor in charge of Ferry Project Cookery School, released the book entitled ‘The Four Seasons’ at Octavia View in Wisbech.
The book contains 40 tasty, seasonal recipes and also tells the story of Ferry Project, the Wisbech-based homelessness charity and social enterprise, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
About 100 people gathered to celebrate the occasion. The event saw many copies of the book being purchased, copious amounts of food samples available, all from recipes contained within the book, and of course, some celebratory (non-alcoholic) bubbly.
Keith Smith, CEO of Ferry Project, spoke and outlined the work of Ferry Project, whilst Alison talked about her passion for food and the work of the Ferry Project Cookery School.
She also shared some anecdotes of the process of writing a cookery book. Matt McChlery, who was the food photographer and project manager of the creation of the book, also spoke and encouraged everyone to nominate Alison for Velvet Magazine’s Food and Drink Awards 2025 as ‘Food & Drink Hero’ of the Year.
The book is available in both paperback and hardback and can be purchased directly from Ferry Project Cookery School located at 10a-14 South Brink, Wisbech, PE13 1JQ or from many online booksellers, including Amazon, WHSmith and Waterstones websites.
All profits from the sale of the book go towards helping the homeless in Fenland.
