Coronavirus: Elderly man dies in King's Lynn hospital

An elderly man has died in Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital after contracting coronavirus, it has been announced this afternoon.

His death is the 124th related to the infection to have been recorded at the hospital since the outbreak began in March.

QEH chief executive Caroline Shaw said: “We can confirm today that a patient in his 80s has died after testing positive for COVID-19.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”

Data from NHS England shows no deaths have been recorded since Friday, though those details are subject to change.
