Appeal after supermarket break-in

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at the Co-op in Chatteris.

Offenders forced open the shutter of the supermarket in Bridge Street, damaging the locks and the front window at around 4.30am on Saturday, October 1.

Police were called due to the alarm being activated when the unknown offenders broke in.

The premises were searched by officers including the dog unit but no-one was found at the scene.

Nothing was stolen in the break-in.

DC Ahmed Ishaq, investigating said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area.”
