Cashpoint stolen from Long Sutton bank

RAM raiders used a JCB to smash a bank wall in Long Sutton and steal the cashpoint machine in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).

Police say the raid happened shortly after 2.15am at Barclays Bank in Market Place.

At least four men wearing balaclavas loaded the cashpoint into the back of a 4x4 and fled.

The JCB was left at the bank and police say the men’s getaway vehicle and the cashpoint itself are likely to be abandoned in an isolated rural area.

A police spokesman said: “We are appealing to farmers to check their outbuildings and isolated parts of their property and report anything to us as soon as they can.”

The JCB was stolen from a building site at Sutton St James.
