Cyclist assaulted in Wisbech

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted as she cycled home.

The 32-year-old was riding along Prins Avenue, Wisbech, at about 8pm on Saturday (October 1) when a girl stopped her.

She asked her for a cigarette then punched her when she refused.

The offender is described as white, five foot, heavily built with short black hair and earrings. She was wearing a white zip-up short-sleeved jumper and blue jeans.

PC Anita Radley, investigating, said: “This was an unprovoked attack which left the victim very shaken.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw the assault or has any information to call police.”
