Unprovoked attack on cyclist

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was assaulted in Wisbech.

The 58-year-old was cycling along Cromwell Road at about 5.30am on Tuesday (July 5) when two men stepped out in front of him at the junction with Weasenham Lane.

One of the offenders punched him in the face causing his glasses and hat to fall off. He stopped, but the two men ran off.

The men were white, 18 to 20, of medium build and about 5’8’’, both were wearing grey tracksuits. One of the men had a chubby face and wore glasses; the other had a thin face.
