Woman attacked at Chatteris

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted at Chatteris Working Men’s Club.

The 38-year-old needed hospital treatment for a suspected broken jaw after being attacked between 11pm and midnight on Saturday December 10.

The victim was set upon by a group of men and was repeatedly kicked following an argument.

The offenders also attacked a man who had come to her aid. The pair managed to run off and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Constable Ahmed Ishaq, investigating, said: “This was a nasty attack in which a woman sustained serious injuries.

“We know there were a lot of people present at the club who would have witnessed what happened. I would urge them to contact police so we can build up a clear picture of what happened and bring those responsible to justice.”

Anyone with any information should call DC Ishaq on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
